ROLE OF LEADERSHIP IN ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT: A STUDY OF BANK ALFALAH LIMITED, PAKISTAN

Abstract

The following study is aimed to examine leadership andits role in organizational development at Bank AlfalahLimited. The purpose of the study is to investigate therole of leadership; to find the measures/performancecriteria of the leadership, and its application in theorganizational development in conjunction withdetermining the antecedents of organizationaldevelopment. The study has incorporated quantitativeresearch design for which the primary data collectionmethod has been used to collect information fromemployees of Bank Alfalah Limited in Pakistan. Theprobability sampling has been used to conduct the studyusing multistage sampling, with a sample size of 260respondents selected for the study. The entire analysisof this research is done through SPSS and Smart PLSstatistical softwares. The results showed that therelationship between leadership and organizationaldevelopment is strong, positive, and significant. Themodel for the study was appropriate and the instrumentis valid and reliable for conducting the study. The studyfindings postulate that restructuring should be executedfor improvisation among leaders for better organizationaldevelopment, which will also contribute to technologicaldevelopment, employee performance, and organizationalprofitability on an overall basis which is determinedthrough the leadership style.
